Mrs. Jørgine Frederiksen was born in 1950 in Qaqortoq. She moved to Narsaq in 1965, where she got an office administration education. She met her husband in Narsaq and moved to Tasiusaq in 1968, and started sheepfarming.
Jørgine started her hostel in 1977, which means that she has acquired considerable knowledge of catering for tourists' wishes and requirements. On request, guests can be fetched from Qassiarsuk, the former Norse colony 'Bratthalid'.
Mrs. Jørgine Frederiksen and her husband have 3 daughters that also participate in running their activities in the summer.
Jørgine Frederiksen runs a highly efficient youth hostel at the sheep-farming location 'Tasiusaq', which is situated in perfectly idyllic natural surroundings in the heart of the lush countryside of South Greenland. The hostel has 16 beds and several beddings, a well-designed communal room and a kitchenette.
Jørgine organises coffee sessions, during which she talks about Greenland culture and life as a sheep-farmer. Barbecue evenings featuring Greenland products can be organised on request.
