Mr. Helgi Jonasson was born in small town - Hvolsvöllur - at the south coast of Iceland. He came to Greenland in 1979. He met a Greenlandic woman, married her, and they have together 2 children.
 
Helgi could see the good potential in tourism in Narsaq, and started Narsaq Farm House, as an activity centre with youth hostel in 1992.
 
Narsaq Farm House is situated app. 1. km outside the town. It has perfect facilities for hikers, kayakers or people who want to stay outside the "civilisation".
 
Narsaq Farm House can accommodate 20 people and overnight stays can be booked with or without made-up beds. Narsaq Farm House is an ideal point of departure for hiking trips into the Narsaq hinterland, with good char angling to be had in the fjord, which lies a stone's throw from the farm.
 
During the summer, Helgi organises hiking trips both close to the town and or longer duration. The area is an eldorado for tourists who are geology enthusiasts. Anglers can be directed to the best fishing spots, especially for trout (arctic char) - recommended with every good reason by Helgi for many years.
